Warehouse worker ‘tortured to death’
A warehouse worker was allegedly tortured to death in the city on Saturday.
According to the police report, the warehouse owner, along with his accomplices, tortured the employee to death for stealing thread. Police registered cases and handed over the body of the victim to the heirs.
Reportedly, 45-year-old Mohsin Abrar, son of Rafiq and a resident of Sahiwal Chichawatni, was employed in the warehouse of Usman Gujjar, the son of Khalid Gujjar and a resident of Khalidabad Makhdoom Road, Chanchalwala Jhang Road.
Usman and others accused blamed Mohsin after raw material was missing from their warehouse. The suspects called Mohsin to their dera where Usman along with his accomplices allegedly brutally tortured him, as a result of which he fainted.
He was rushed to Allied Hospital Faisalabad where he succumbed to his injuries. Factory Area Police took the body into custody and handed it over to his heirs after postmortem and registered a case against Usman and five accused under the provisions of Section 302 PPC and started searching for them.

Incidents involving torture and death of workers were not uncommon in the province.
On May 6, a kiln contractor tortured a nine-year-old boy to death during forced labour and hid his body in a room near Jhang Road, Thikriwala.
Rizwan, the nine-year-old son of Ramzan, a labourer working at the kiln of Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Gujjar near Chak No. 241RB Chachanal Walabai Pass, was tortured by Sultan, a contractor, along with his wife Shahnaz Bibi and daughters for making less bricks and was forced to continue working.
Rizwan was brutally beaten by the contractor and his family for not working more, which resulted in his death.
In January last year, a domestic worker was tortured and killed by her employer in the Chung area of Lahore. The employers Dr Humera and her husband Junaid had tortured the domestic worker to death.
