RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) have issued a traffic plan to facilitate motorists during practise sessions and matches to be played between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from September 12 to September 21.

The CTP has advised citizens to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience as Double Road would remain closed for the practice sessions and cricket matches from September 12 to September 21. According to a CTP spokesperson, Murree Road would remain closed from Faizabad to Double Road for all kinds of vehicular traffic in the morning and the evening.

The Double Road would remain closed for all kinds of vehicular traffic from the start to the conclusion of the practice sessions and the cricket matches. He urged the road users to cooperate with the police during the cricket matches.

The spokesperson said that the traffic police would make all-out efforts to regulate traffic in adjacent areas of the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium where cricket matches will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand. According to the traffic plan, traffic coming from Rawal Dam and Islamabad towards Rawalpindi would be diverted to the Expressway.

The traffic would be allowed to enter Rawalpindi via Dhoke Kala Khan, Khanna and Koral. The traffic from Rawalpindi to Islamabad would use 6th Road chowk via Saidpur Road to enter Islamabad.

The traffic coming from IJP Road and 9th Avenue Chowk towards Rawalpindi would use Pindora Chungi, Katarian, Carriage Factory and Pir Wadhai Morr route to enter Rawalpindi instead of the Double Road.
