251 vehicles to be auctioned

The Rawalpindi police have approved the auction of impounded 251 vehicles in 29 police stations for being suspicious, used in crimes, or having incomplete documents.

These vehicles worth millions of rupees have been kept in police stations and police lines for the last two to 10 years.

Rawalpindi Senior Civil Judge Muhammad Akram Ranjha has issued red notices to the owners of all these vehicles who have been strictly instructed to contact the competent authority.

If any owner does not report to the competent authority in time, his vehicle will be put up for open auction.

The valuable parts, including tires of these impounded vehicles, have also been stolen while many have perished. Sources said that the safety of such many vehicles in the police line has also become a major issue. These vehicles have also become hotspots for the breeding of dengue larvae.
