KARACHI:

A weather system is approaching Karachi to dump more rain.

Another low-pressure weather system has formed in the Bay of Bengal which could cause rains in Sindh in the next few days, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said Sunday.

According to the PMD synopsis, the low-pressure will enter Sindh from September 7 to 8 bringing moderate monsoon rains to eastern Sindh. The clouds are likely to roll over Karachi and its suburbs around September 9. Moderate to heavy rains are likely in different districts of rural Sindh including Karachi. The rain bearing system will divert from Central India and Indian Rajasthan to Sindh.

The monsoon system that caused 133mm of rains in the city in the last few days has completely dissipated. On Sunday, the inactive sea breeze was fully restored, with a speed clocking up to 20kmph. The maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 33.1 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 24.7 degrees Celsius. Today [Monday] the weather conditions are expected to remain clear and partly cloudy.
