Trailer truck runs over, kills two minor mechanics

Both minors worked at a tyre puncture shop near the hotel and lived there as well, says police

KARACHI:

A trailer truck ran over two minor boys asleep on a charpoy outside a hotel in Sohrab Goth area on Wednesday, killing them on the spot. The police arrested the errant driver, Mueenul Hassan, and confiscated the trailer.

The deceased were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where they were identified as Abdul Jabbar, 17, son of Rahim Bux, and Arbaz, 18, son of Saleem Bux.

According to Sohrab Goth Police, a 10-wheeler trailer truck crushed the teenagers to death as they were asleep on a charpoy outside Rangeen Shinwari Hotel at Al-Asif Square.

Both the minors worked at a tyre puncture shop near the hotel and lived there as well, said the police. The deceased hailed from Rahimyar Khan and were handed over to the heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.

The Sohrab Goth Police said both the teenagers worked at a tyre puncture shop near Rangeen Shinwari Hotel at Al-Asif Square and would also reside at the shop. Both the victims belonged to Rahim Yar Khan.
