LAHORE:

A magistrate on Tuesday sent the two suspects in the gang rape of a woman and her daughter to jail for their identification parade, with directives to complete the process within a week.

Chung police produced rickshaw driver Umar Farooq and his alleged accomplice Munsib before the magisterial court and argued that it had been established through a medical report that both of them had raped the woman and her daughter.

The judge sent the suspects to jail for their identification parade. The police had covered their faces while presenting them in the court.

Chung police arrested the men, including a rickshaw driver, on Monday for allegedly gang-raping the woman and her teenage daughter near LDA Avenue the previous night.

The police had registered an FIR against the two men on the woman's complaint under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the FIR, the woman told the police that she and her 15-year-old daughter had reached Lahore from Vehari in a bus on Sunday at around 10pm.
