Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actor Sarwat Gilani has been most vocal about minorities and their mistreatment in the country. The renowned star, who had recently worked in a cross-border series Churails, had often spoken about the rights of the minorities in Pakistan.

Recently, the Mata-e-Jaan star took to social media and shared a video of celebrating Raksha Bandhan with her cook, Ghanaish. In the video, that has been making rounds, Sarwat can be seen tying the rakhi on her cook, as Ghanaish guides her on how to perform the ritual. Sarwat captioned the clip, "Rakhi Bandhan for our cook Ghanaish.”

She added, "Minorities living in Pakistani should be made to feel welcomed and loved by every Pakistani." The heartwarming video has garnered varied responses.

This isn't the first time Sarwat has spoken up about minorities’ rights in the country. Last year, the Khasara actor had spoken out against the news of the kidnapping, forcible conversion and marriage of a Christian minor girl in Pakistan. "Maybe we all want to speak out about this but are scared, but we should not be scared of speaking up about our rights. We should raise our voice for what are our rights," she had said in a video.
