A man was killed and five others were injured in a clash between two groups on Abul Hasan Isphahani Road on Wednesday.

Panic and fear spread in the area as the police and Sindh Rangers personnel dispersed the quarreling groups.

Citizens staged a sit-in and demanded the arrest of the perpetrators, blocking the path heading from Abul Hasan Isphahani Road to the Super Highway.

A fight broke out between two groups and as the perpetrators attacked each other with sticks and stones, someone opened fire.

Several people were injured in the dispute till the law enforcement personnel arrived.

The injured were shifted to different hospitals. According to East SSP Qamar Jaskani, the deceased, identified as Mehboob, 30, was not involved in the dispute but was accidentally hit by a bullet. He worked at a sweet shop in the area, said the SSP.

The injured were identified as Kamran Hussain Jaffery, 55, his son Shah Rukh Hussain Jaffery, 23, Mohsin, 12, Arsalan, 30, and Muaz Madani, 40.
