Paternal aunt turns out be infant’s killer
Police arrested a woman and her paramour over the murder charge of a two-year-old boy who went missing a few days in Pakpattan.
Police said two-year-old Ahmad Raza, son of Muhammad Shafiq, went missing a couple of days ago.
Sadar Police Station registered a case of kidnapping. When the police expanded the scope of investigation it turned out that Farzana Kausar, a paternal aunt of the minor boy, had killed him and later buried in the courtyard.
Police arrested the suspect and recovered the body of the child from the courtyard of the house.
Police said Kausar had an alleged illicit affair with Wazir Ali, a resident of the same village, due to which the she was having arguments with her siblings.
Out of resentment, the suspect grabbed the child who was playing in the street, took him home, drowned him in a drum filled with water and strangled him to death.
The suspect, along with her paramour Wazir Ali dug a pit in the yard of the house and buried the body of the child.
Police shifted the body to the hospital and handed it over to heirs after the autopsy.
Muhammad Shafiq Chauhang works in a sock factory in Lahore and is the father of four children.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar took notice and sought report from RPO Sahiwal. Justice will be provided to the victim family.
Earlier this year in March, a rickshaw driver turned out to be the murderer of his wife and daughter who were shot dead in Kahna area three days ago.
DIG Investigations Shariq Jamal said that the suspect, Dilawar Khan, was married to Ayesha Bibi and the couple had children.
He added that Dilawar had an extramarital affair with his sister-in-law. “He hatched a plan to murder his wife.”
Reportedly, the suspect Dilawar hired an assassin identified as Nauman to kill his wife.
The DIG further said that police had arrested both suspects and were investigating the matter further. According to the police report, the alleged murderer identified as Dilawar, who worked as a rickshaw driver, was returning home to Hayer with his wife Ayesha Bibi, daughters Maheen, Aafia, Falak Bibi and son Haris, after attending a marriage ceremony on March 15.
As they reached near Sui Asal, unidentified motorcyclists intercepted them and tried to loot valuables on gun point. They looted Rs18,000 from the victims.
When the suspect tried to pluck golden earrings from Ayesha’s ears, she offered resistance. The suspects resorted to firing. As a result of the incident, Ayesha and Maheen sustained bullet injuries and eventually died.
Police had registered a case against the suspects on the charge of murder during robbery.
Police launched the investigations and included Dilawar into investigations over suspicion. The DIG stated that police were investigating the matter further.
