Four killed in separate road accidents

Deceased were shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities

KARACHI:

At least four people lost their lives in separate traffic accidents in the city on Thursday.

A man driving a trailer truck recklessly at very high speed plowed into a minivan and a motorcycle at the Vita Chowrangi intersection of the Korangi Industrial Area.

Two men riding the motorcycle died on the spot. The minivan was damaged as well but the people inside it survived the crash unhurt.

The deceased were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. The police said the deceased persons were aged between 25-30 years, however, their identification could not be ascertained from their belongings.

Police have arrested the driver and seized the trailer-truck. Further investigation was underway.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist died after he was hit by a speeding car near the Northern Bypass area of Baldia Town. Rescue workers shifted the deceased to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The deceased was identified as 36-year-old Shahid Ali son of Qurban Ali with the help of an identification card found in his pocket.

Separately, a man was killed after he was hit by a train in Gaddafi Town of Landhi area. The deceased was shifted to JPMC, where he was identified as 48-year-old Musarrat Hussain son of Muzaffar Hussain.
