Transgender’s decomposed body found

The three-day-old body of a transgender was found in a room in Afzal Town in the precincts of the Airport police station. The police have registered a case regarding the alleged murder of the victim whose identity could not be ascertained.

According to a spokesperson on Wednesday, they were informed that a foul smell was emanating from a room in Afzal Town. When the police opened the room, they found a body lying on the bed that could not be identified as it had decayed and started to decompose. Rescue 1122 teams were called to the site who shifted the body to the hospital for post mortem.

Police said the cause of death would only be determined after the post-mortem report. However, an officer told The Express Tribune it seemed that the transgender had been murdered.

Nothing was found to hint about his hometown or relatives, the official maintained, adding that two suspects from a nearby area were taken to the police station for questioning.
