Classes in Insaf Schools begin

New admissions in afternoon schools will continue till October 31

The classes in 8,000 Insaf Afternoon Schools have started across Punjab in the new academic session.

Under the Insaf Afternoon Schools Project, the educational institutions in the remote areas of the province have been upgraded. The primary schools will be converted into middle schools in the second shift, middle schools will convert into high schools and high schools will convert into higher secondary schools.

District Education Authority Chief Executive Officer Kashif Azam said that this is a successful experience of the government in which children will get higher education near their homes.

The admission process in all educational institutions is underway, along with the provision of free course books. The government has also deployed regular teachers in all afternoon schools. These educators will teach in both shifts for which they would be paid an honorarium.

Sources said that new admissions in the afternoon schools will continue till October 31. Educated young boys and girls have also been recruited as temporary teachers in these schools with special lump sum honorariums.

The enrolment target in evening schools is between 500,000 and 700,000.
