LAHORE:

Defence B police claimed to have arrested a man accused of harassing a Filipino woman and making obscene gestures towards her in broad daylight. The suspect, identified as Hasnain, was apprehended within hours of a complaint being lodged by the victim's husband, Ihekandu Ikechi Simon.

The incident reportedly occurred when Hasnain spotted the woman outside her residence and began harassing her with inappropriate behavior. Upon receiving the complaint, a police team led by SHO Defence B acted swiftly, traced the accused, and arrested him within a few hours. The suspect has been placed in custody, and a case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the law.

SP Cantt Akhtar Nawaz praised the rapid response of the SHO and his team, announcing that appreciation certificates would be awarded for their efficient handling of the case.

"Women, especially foreign nationals, must feel safe in our city. Those who harass or commit violence against women will be brought to justice without fail," SP Nawaz said. Police have assured the Filipino woman and her family of full protection and urged citizens to immediately report any incidents of harassment so that prompt action can be taken.
