Swedish model accuses 'The Suicide Squad' actor of rape
A Swedish model accused The Suicide Squad (2021) actor Joel Kinnaman of rape on August 6, hours after he shared the news of having filed a temporary restraining order against her on his Instagram.
Taking to her own account on the app, she shared screenshots of her conversations with Joel and his manager to verify her claims, according to Meaww and E!News. Gabriella Magnusson, also known as Bella Davis, went on to add, "he know I have too much evidence on him so he just put up lies."
Joel had filed a temporary restraining order against the model, who he claims he had 'consensual sex' with in 2018, when he was single. He also shared a statement alleging Gabriella "demanded money" from him after "threatening to accuse him of rape in public."
Joel's post read, "While it is mortifying and scary to come forward about all of this, what feels worse is enduring the escalating daily threats of physical harm to me and my loved ones and threats to go to the press with fabricated, vile rumours unless I agree to a list of demands that includes money, Hollywood connections, helping to secure a work visa, a verified Instagram page, a Wikipedia page, a photo shoot with Sports Illustrated, an additional $400,000 for an apartment and more. And so, I want to share the facts with you, honestly and directly."
He claimed that he spoke to the model over the phone on July 25 and during this conversation, she admitted that their encounters were 'consensual' and allegedly said, "Do you know how much money I would get and how famous I would become if I went to the press?"
Joel claims that after entering a relationship, he attempted to cut off all contact with her but she became 'increasingly hostile'. He concluded, “I want to be VERY clear so there is no misunderstanding: I stand by all victims of sexual assault. That is not what occurred here. This was consensual sex. And now it is an attempt to extort."
Joel played Colonel Rick Flag in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, which initially released in France on July 28.
