Due to the ongoing spread of Covid-19 in Pakistan, owing largely to the highly transmissible Delta variant, several celebrities recently took to social media to announce that they had tested positive for the virus. Actor Ushna Shah shared the news through her Instagram, posting a detailed note in favour of vaccinations. Shah wrote, “Even with the two mandatory doses of the vaccine, I have tested positive for Covid-19.”
She added, “I am a relatively healthy person with a strong immune system but the bug got through and the symptoms are extremely unpleasant. I shudder to think what would have happened had I not been vaccinated.” She continued, “I urge everyone to wear masks, get vaccinated and take all the necessary precautions to protect themselves! Covid-19 is not a joke and the Delta variant is certainly not to be taken lightly.”
The Balaa actor captioned her note with, “To those I met recently, I vehemently apologise. I assumed it was just a viral until the fever became unbearable and I lost my sense of smell.” Actor Faysal Quraishi took to his Instagram story to share with his followers that he had tested positive too. Sharing a selfie of himself all masked up, Quraishi wrote, “Allah ka bara karam hey (God has been very merciful). No major symptoms barwaqt test aur vaccination (thanks to timely testing and vaccination). Please apna khayal rakhain aur vaccine karwa lein (take care of yourselves and get vaccinated).”
Former model Nadia Hussain posted about testing positive on her Instagram as well. Hussain shared a post that read, “Covid positive. Alhamdulillah no major symptoms yet, had fever for two days, otherwise all good. Keep me in your prayers.” She further added in the caption, “The freaking bug has caught me too! Had managed to avoid it for all this time but it had to happen I guess!” She explained that she had been vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. She wrote, “Praying for the health of everybody who has this bloody virus! For those who have been in contact with me, please get tested if you’re feeling any symptoms!”
