KARACHI:

Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has written a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan, seeking action and investigation into the alleged attack on him in Nawabshah.

Haleem has requested action against Nawabshah DIG Irfan Baloch and SSP Saud Magsi. In the letter, he claimed the attack was carried out under a conspiracy.

Haleem said that certain PSP officers have been posted in Sindh for more than ten years. "Under the rotation policy, these officers should be sent to other provinces. PSP officers are PPP slaves," he said. "I was attacked under a premeditated conspiracy."

He also accused Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto and provincial minister Taimur Talpur of orchestrating the assault. "The PPP wants to silence me. I will continue to expose the corruption of the Sindh government. No one can silence my voice,"he said.

He had written letters to all the officers, including IG Sindh, to provide security. Haleem claimed to have received reports that he could be attacked by PPP members. He said police officers assured complete security, but were absent on arrival in Nawabshah, however no security was provided.

"We were walking on the main road in front of Zardari House when we were attacked. This is the fifth time the PPP has attacked me in Sindh. First in Kanri, Larkana, Malir, Ghotki and Nawabshah," the opposition leader alleged.
