3 women among 7 injured in Bakkar Morr pile-up

Two youngsters drowned while swimming in the Ghazi River despite the imposition of Section 144.

The locals rescued the body of one victim, while the other one couldn’t be found.

The police shifted the body to the hospital, which was handed over to the victim’s family after legal formalities.

Abu Bakar, who hailed from Mardan, was swimming in the Ghazi River at Khalujabi spot. The victim swam to the depth and eventually drowned.

In another incident, another youngster named Farhan drowned in the same river.

The efforts of the locals went in vain as the body was possibly taken away by the fast-flowing water.

The police have registered cases of both incidents. The administration had imposed Section 144 on swimming in the Ghazi River and it is banned.

Seven people injured

At least seven people, including three women, were injured in separate road accidents near Bakkar Morr and Khanpur.

Police said that some three motorcycles, a car, and a rickshaw collided with each other near Bakka Morr.
