Labour Square armed clash leaves one dead, two injured
An an armed clash between two groups in Labour Square within the remits of Sukhan police station left one person dead and two others injured.
Mari group and Qari Sajjad group have been at loggerheads in the area since long, however, a clash between the young men from both sides over the occupation of a cricket ground a few days ago led to a showdown on Sunday afternoon.
The dead and injured were brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where the deceased was identified as 26-year-old Arif Wazir Khan, and the injured as 45-year-old Maula Bakhsh and 18-year-old Jada Khan.

When the police reached the clash site after the incident, enraged people surrounded Sharafi Goth police station SHO Adeel Shah accusing police of bias and also tried to attack the police van.
Upon receiving the information, SHO Sukhan police station SM Ghayyur, SP Malir Sanghar Malik along with a heavy contingent of police and Rangers reached to the spot and dispersed the enraged people and launched a search operation.
During the operation, several suspects, including Qari Sajjad, head of the Qari Sajjad group, were detained. Police officials said that the two groups have been at loggerheads for a long time.
Two days ago, a quarrel broke out between the boys of the two groups at a cricket ground in the area and the quarrel escalated into an armed clash on Sunday.
The situation in the area was tense till late at night and a heavy contingent of police was deployed.
