Anti-polio drive to kick off on August 2
A seven-day anti-polio campaign will kick off on the province from Monday.
This was declared at a Provincial Task Force on Polio Eradication meeting which was held at the Sindh Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah on Friday.
The meeting was also attended by Home Additional Chief Secretary Qazi Shahid Pervez, Health Secretary Kazim Jatoi, Local Government Secretary Syed Najam Shah, Emergency Operations Centre Provincial Coordinator Fayyaz Abbasi, representatives of PPHI and UNICEF.

All the commissioners and deputy commissioners attended the meeting through video link. It was stated in the meeting that like the rest of the country, a seven-day anti-polio campaign is being launched in Sindh from August 2. The aim of this special polio campaign was to vaccinate 7.4 million children in 22 districts of the province.
The chief secretary said no case of polio had been reported in Sindh province over the last one year. While briefing the meeting, it was stated by health department authorities that 535,111 surgical masks and 63,643 hand sanitizers had been provided to polio workers to protect them from the novel coronavirus.
