Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said the victory in the by-elections of Sialkot is the victory of the new Pakistan. It has proved that the people stand with the government's stance and have rejected the opposition.
Speaking to a delegation at the Governor’s House on Thursday, Sarwar highlighted that despite coronavirus, Pakistan is heading towards economic prosperity as a result of effective government policies and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has also acknowledged the steps taken by the government for bolstering the business community. The government is making progress in the economic field due to its prudent and successful economic policies, he added.
He said the government was committed to ensuring the security and sovereignty of the country. “Only the politics of transparency and honesty will prevail in new Pakistan, he maintained.

Governor said the defeat of the opposition in the Sialkot and Azad Kashmir elections is proof that the people are standing by with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. The success owes to the hard work of the PTI workers and the political acumen of the general public.
He said people repose trust in Prime Minister Imran Khan as he is an honest leader, adding that he was working with sincerity to steer the country out of crisis and time is not far when Pakistan will be completely free from all problems.
He said that the PTI has become the largest political party of Pakistan and Prime Minister Imran Khan was a leader who will never bow down to the opposition's pressure.
Meanwhile, expressing concern over the surge in coronavirus cases, he stressed every Pakistani must follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) till complete elimination of the pandemic, adding that those who do not follow coronavirus safety SOPS are not only risking their own lives but also the lives of their loved ones and people around them.
