QUETTA:

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal on Monday said the province has to come out of the difficult situation and embark on a journey of development.

“The incidents of insecurity cannot stop us from revealing the positive and real identity of the province,” he said while talking to reporters after inaugurating All Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Diamond Jubilee Quetta Gladiators Women League 2021 in Quetta.

“The year of Golden Jubilee of Sports has been declared. If the PCB cannot provide better facilities to Akbar Bugti Stadium, they should hand it over to Balochistan government. We will improve this stadium,” he added.

CM Kamal said that it’s the first women’s T20 league in Balochistan that is first of its kind in Pakistan and the region. The PCB chairman should functionalise the Quetta and Gwadar cricket grounds in Balochistan and provide facilities here.

“If flood light facility is provided in the Akbar Bugti Cricket Stadium, it can be a good venue in the country. I hope they will consider it. However, if the PCB cannot do this, they can come on TV and say,” he said.

The CM said that sports complexes were being constructed in 33 districts of the province in which “best grounds” were being constructed for women.

“They [women] are an important part of society. They will be provided facilities in sports so that they can come forward and showcase their talents in a better way,” he added.

Balochistan would always highlight its positive side, he said, adding that the government would highlight the “true identity of Balochistan” in Pakistan, Kamal said.
