LAHORE:

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has stated that work on 1,500 projects of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority was under progress. “Till December, we will be able to provide clean drinking water to millions of people.

He expressed these views while speaking to the media on Sunday.

Replying to question on the provincial water authority, he said, “Unfortunately we had been facing difficulties in the water authority due to bureaucratic hurdles. However, today the government bureaucracy and the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority are on the same page."

Work has started on these projects to provide clean drinking water to the people in all cities and villages of Punjab including Lahore without any political distinction, the governor claimed. “Along with this we have also rehabilitated closed filtration plants in various cities in collaboration with welfare organisations.”

On the Afghanistan peace process, Sarwar elaborated that during his recent visit to the United States, he briefed American leadership about Pakistan’s role for peace in Afghanistan and region.
