ISLAMABAD:

Almost all educational institutes working under the Federal Directorate of Education will hold a variety of activities within the institutes to observe the Independence Day on Sunday.

The institutes including Islamabad College for Girls F-6/2, Islamabad College for Boys F-8/4 and Islamabad Model College for Girls F-7/2 are taking the lead in preparations to mark the day and will hold colourful and interactive programmes, involving students in constructive and informative quizzes and debates.

Renowned educationist, Prof. Fateh Mohammad Malik said, “The Independence Day provides an opportunity to aware students about the unprecedented struggle and contributions of freedom fighters and other activists as well as the history of the country and its creation.” Unfortunately students are not aware of the history of Pakistan and most of the universities are not offering the subject of Pakistan Studies, he added. He said students at all levels must be educated about the history and culture of the country.
