Pindi police arrest 21 suspects

Recover 52 bottles of liquor, over nine kg of hashish and other items from those held

Rawalpindi District Police in their ongoing drive against drug peddlers, bootleggers and other lawbreakers conducted raids in different areas and arrested 23 accused besides recovering 52 bottles of liquor, over nine kg of hashish and other items from their possession.

According to a police spokesperson, Kahuta police rounded up two bootleggers, identified as Zahid Ali and Rizwan Hanif, and recovered 45 bottles of liquor from their possession.

Morgah Police arrested Muhammad Javed and seized six litres of liquor while Rawat police apprehended Naveed Akhtar for having seven liters of liquor. Race Course police sent behind the bars an accused, identified as Nadir Khan, for carrying two liquor bottles.

On the same day, Rawalpindi Police in their crackdown against illegal weapons rounded up 10 accused from different areas and recovered seven pistols of 30 bore and two rifles with ammunition from their possession.
