Girl shot dead with man visiting her

Victims found dead on roof, in courtyard of house

A man and a girl were allegedly shot dead by her brother in Thirkriwala on Sunday.

According to the police report, 28-year-old Ashfaq a resident of Chichawatni, went to meet 18-year-old Mehwish in Mohalla Gharibabad.

When the brother of the girl saw both of them together, he shot Ashfaq in the head and face. After killing the man, he allegedly took his sister to the roof of the house and shot her in the head.

The girl was found dead with a phone and a hands-free earphone in her hand, while the body of the man was lying in the yard of the house.

Mehwish's brother Omar reported to Rescue 15 at 2:45 am that two people had been killed in Gharibabad.

Upon receiving the information, a heavy contingent of police, including DSP Factory Area Malik Tariq and SHO Mian Asghar reached the spot and summoned teams of Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) to collect evidence from the spot.

In a similar incident last month, a young man who went to meet a girl jumped from the third floor of a building out of fear of being caught by her brother. He died later in a hospital in Dijkot.

Police said 22-year-old Hassan Farooq, a resident of Awami Colony, went to meet the girl at her house. When the girl's brother came, Farooq jumped from the roof of the house instead of running away from the door.

As a result, he was severely injured. Rescue 1122 personnel rushed him to a hospital after providing initial medical treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries.
