A passer-by was killed and two policemen were injured in a clash between unidentified suspects and police near Kachhi Canal on DG Cement Factory Road.
A police team was on a routine patrol near DG Cement Factory Road Kachchi Canal when suddenly unidentified robbers spotted the police van and started firing at it.
A passer-by, Saifullah, a resident of Basti Halti was shot and he succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Meanwhile, two policemen Mohammad Rafiq and Yasir Mehdi Constable were injured.
Upon receiving information, rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the body and injured to Teaching Hospital Dera Ghazi Khan.

However, robbers managed to escape while DPO Omar Saeed Malik and DSP Sadar Nasir Ali Saqib along with other personnel reached the spot.
On the other hand, a state of fear and panic spread in the area. Locals said the suspects were the members of Ladi gang who have now returned to the area after a failed operation by forces, and now are targeting police.
Citizens have demanded that the Punjab Chief Minister order an air operation to eliminate the gang.
