Naved said that he was ready to give his version to the PCB chief and seek clearance to play for Pakistan again.
“I am ready to meet the PCB chief to clear things out,” Naved told The Express Tribune.
Barring former captains Younus Khan and Mohammad Yousaf, all the players, who faced the wrath of the PCB after the disastrous Australian tour, met Butt and either had their bans reduced or reversed.
Shoaib Malik’s one-year ban was reversed while Kamran Akmal and his brother Umar’s Rs3 million fines were halved after they apologised to the PCB chairman.
Naved said he also wanted to clear his name though he had not heard from the board after his hearing was adjourned.
“I will respond to the PCB call immediately but so far I haven’t received any word since my hearing was adjourned on Saturday,” said Naved while adding that he will try to meet Ijaz Butt before the June 26 hearing.
Butt is currently in Sri Lanka to attend the Asia Cup and is expected to arrive back on Tuesday.
Younus to receive fresh show-cause notice
Meanwhile, Younus Khan seems to be paying the price for refusing to compromise with the PCB as the board is preparing a fresh show-cause notice for the former captain.
“As per order by Irfan Qadir, we will send another showcause notice to Younus in a couple of days,” PCB advocate Talib Rizvi told The Express Tribune.
Rizvi added that the board will decide the length of Younus’ ban after receiving a reply from the former captain.
On the other hand, Younus’ lawyer, Ahmed Qayyum said that he would decide his course of action after receiving instructions from the former captain.
