‘Growth-oriented budget’ today

"Government engaged people in budget-making process for the next financial year"

ISLAMABAD:

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal on Thursday said the government was going to present a people-friendly budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 aimed at ensuring provincial socio-economic development with a growth-oriented economy.

The government would present over Rs500 billion budget with a major chunk dedicated for education, health, water and road infrastructure to end the deprivation of the province.

In a video statement, the CM said the government engaged people in budget making process for the next financial year.

He said the government was in coordination with departments and reviewed the last three years’ budgets to develop mechanism for formulating new budget. “The government has focused on addressing issues of public and development of the province,” he added. The CM claimed people of the province appreciated the efforts of the government and identified areas of investment in Balochistan to improve the socio-economic situation in the province.

“The government has sought opinion and suggestions of public through various channels in making financial policies, resource allocation and fund utilisation in the province,” he said.
