Cop injured by rioters dies
Constable Shafqat Ali, another victim of severe torture during riots by a banned party, died on Sunday in his native area of Pindi Bhattian, Hafizabad.
He was posted at Gujjarpura Police Station and had suffered severe injuries during violent riots on April 13 at Karol Ghatti area.
He was undergoing treatment in Pindi Bhattian for the past one month but succumbed to his injuries. An FIR on April 13 at Police Station Gujarpura, Civil Lines division, was registered on said incident.

Lahore CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said that the family of the deceased would be fully looked after.
Meanwhile, a police constable was left injured in an encounter in Shafiqabad.
According to the police report, a police team had set up a picket in Shafiqabad. Two suspected motorcyclists were passing through it. They signaled to stop them. However, the suspects resorted to firing. As a result, a police constable Ashraf suffered bullet injuries. He was shifted to Lahore Mayo Hospital. Police arrested the suspects Saad and Waqar.
