Ekta Kapoor regrets making some of her saas-bahu soaps

Producer also spoke about how she was obsessed with character Sujal, essayed by Rajiv Khandelwal in 'Kahin Toh Hoga'

Ace TV producer Ekta Kapoor certainly made a name for herself in the 2000s, thanks to a plethora of drama serials.

Her popular shows left a mark on the audience for good reasons and the bad. They brought immense fame to the cast and showrunners, so much so, that a lot of shows bagged major awards as well.

However, time and again the likes of Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kasauti Zindagi Kay, Kahin Toh Hoga, among many others, have been criticised for their misogynistic content and an unrealistic approach to society at large. And now, Ekta has revealed that she indeed regrets some of her productions. Talking to Hindustan Times, the producer shared, there have been shows she wishes she hadn’t done.

In a segment of Never Have I Ever, Ekta also spoke about how she was obsessed with her character Sujal, essayed by Rajiv Khandelwal in Kahin Toh Hoga. “I loved the brooding character played by Rajiv. I really liked that character, so much that I was almost obsessed with it," she told the host.

Ekta made an impressive beginning in 1995 with the comedy show Hum Paanch about a couple with five daughters. It turned out to be a huge success and changed the fortune of Ekta, then a 20-year-old who was carrying the legacy of being actor Jeetendra's daughter.

After that, she produced over 70 shows under Balaji Telefilms, which is now a 26-year-old banner, and includes the long-forgotten successful noon show Itihaas. She also made Koshish... Ek Aasha as well as Kkusum ... Ek Aam Ladki Ki Kahani.
