Qilla Abdullah to be split into two districts
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal has given approval for bifurcating Qilla Abdullah into two districts and establishing a Loralai division.
In this regard, the chief minister presided over a high-level meeting on the establishment of new divisions, districts and tehsils across the province.
Senior members of the Board of Revenue briefed the attendees about the suggestions and recommendations of the committee regarding the establishment of new divisions, districts and tehsils in the province.
The recommendations proposed in the meeting regarding the establishment of new districts and divisions across Balochistan. During the course of the meeting, a detailed review was also presented and important decisions were made
On the occasion, the chief minister directed the committee to review all legal factors and continue work for the establishment of the remaining districts and divisions in the province.
A detailed briefing was given to the meeting related to the allotment of land by the Board of Revenue for development projects.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the organisation of new districts and divisions would not only improve the performance of service delivery, financial and administrative affairs but also provide education, health and civic amenities to local people.
Kamal directed setting up of a reforms committee for improvements in the Board of Revenue, saying the Revenue Department had a crucial role to play. “The world is changing. We must move towards modern revenue collection and digitisation,” he said.
