The Indo-Pak Express recorded a 6-4, 7-6 victory over their European opponents.
Although there was little to differentiate between the two sides, Aisam and Rohan managed to capitalise on one break point they got in the first set which they won 6-4.
The second set, however, went to a tie-breaker which the fifth seeded pair won.
Aisam and Rohan are set to play their quarterfinal match against American brothers Bob and Mike Bryan.

“Your religious Unionists = My unsecular Secessionists”
Unionists (Unionist Muslim League) were people who were for Union ie against creation of Pakistan and were secular. Also some religious parties like Jammat Islami and Jamiat Ulema Hind were against partition.
“BTW: ‘Direct Action Day’ does not equal ‘Unionists’”
You have no idea who unionists were. Read my statement above.
“1947: Indian Muslims were greater in number than West+East Pakistan Muslims.”
Statistically wrong. It is known fact that Muslims in India have a higher growth rate then rest of Indians and still today there are 145 m Muslims in India, 160 m in Pakistan and 125 m in Bangladesh. So Pakistan and Bangladesh Muslims combined are double of what India has, in spite of similar growth rate of Muslims in 3 countries.
“Therefore ‘majority’ indeed were truly “Secular Unionists”.
This is based on your assumption that India had more Muslims than Pakistan (East+West) combined. However for arguments sake even if it was correct, people who wanted Pakistan got it and ones didn’t stayed with India.(respect their choice, it is called DEMOCRACY). What you are implying is that if majority of India supports BJP or Congress, one should not respect some states electing smaller regional parties and BJB or Congress should be imposed on them even though they are not popular there. Once again it is called DEMOCRACY.
“East Timor and South Sudan = results of ‘Islamic’ superstates with dictatorial leaders.”
Wasn’t India a super state created by British? What is Pakistan Bangladesh and India were never united before as a united country before British took it over. Borders were always fluid with many smaller Independent or semi Independent states. In fact Baluchistan and NWFP (KP) (which makes half of Pakistan’s land mass) were part of Afghanistan which British occupied and annexed in British India. As a matter of fact Jinnah did not initially seek independence. He wanted real provincial autonomy. He opted for complete independence as a last resort, because Congress rejected his initial demands. States in USA or provinces in Canada are autonomous even with a provision of separating if they want to (Quebec is one example, separatist have been defeated more than once, but at least they were given choice based on principals of self determination), Unity in Diversity works best. USA and EU world’s 2 biggest economies are an example. Any state or country in those unions can separate if they wish. But try forcing a union on them and see what happens. Imagine Canada declaring Quebec it’s “atoot Ang” and declared all Quebec separatists as terrorists, there would be chaos. It is 21th century and 64 years since Independence, I suggest we accept each other choices and respect them. Happy Independence Day to you.
“Indian flawed democracy … is quite good. QED, boss.”
Not my comment.
they are already out of the semi finals.. bopanna suffered an injury set back! surprised how tribune missed that!! its an easy way for the bryan bro's to win yet another rogers!
ET, I think you should have printed the photograph of both since they play together as a team and setting an example of friendship between the two countries. We Indians are really proud of both and pray that God/Allah help them in winning many titles.
@Arvind Mehraa:
They are seeded 5th for this event. Amateurs’ wannabes????? Two nation theory is obviously beyond your comprehension. Plus regardless of theory behind that triggered it, Pakistan was created based on a democratic referendum, where many Muslims sided with Unionist parties. Decision was made in favor of majority. Other recent examples are East Timor and South Sudan. Democracy sucks, right? I wish these guys best in their quest for Rogers cup.
Ha! If this bunch of amateurs wannabes actually does lift the cup ... I will ... I will ... I will ... er ... quit foul mouthing Pakistanis. And I will ... er, also ... well, how shall I say this ... admit that ... er Hindus and Muslims can live together. But what would that do to the two nation theory. THAT ... really, really, really, worries and gives me nightmares. Now, please lift that cup. PUH-LEASE! I badly need this medicine ... puh-lease.
The way is the goal......badhaii aur mubarrak to our dream Indian-Pakistan Express! Wish you big points in the Quarter Finals with dozens of Aces!
