RDA cracks down on nine houses, 25 shops

The authority received Rs8.08 million in lieu of building maps' approval

The Rawalpindi Development Authority in its continued drive sealed nine houses, 25 shops and demolished a site office of an illegal housing scheme in Rawalpindi, a spokesperson said on Saturday. The authority received Rs8.08 million in lieu of building maps' approval, he added.

The official stated that the Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing RDA carried out an operation against illegal housing schemes and other unauthorised constructions across the city.

The LU&BC Wing’s staff, including Demolition Squad in-charge, building inspectors and others have taken strict action against illegal residential cum commercial buildings, sealed eight homes, 25 shops and demolished a site office of an illegal housing scheme on Adiala Road.

The authority also sealed an illegally constructed house in Saidpur Scheme. Operation against illegal housing societies and commercial markets is being conducted following the directions of RDA Director General Captain (retd) Abdul Sattar Isani, the official maintained.
