Filming for 'Emily in Paris' season 2 begins
Rejoice, all Emily in Paris fans! The hit Netflix comedy series has officially begun production for a second season. The announcement was made Monday morning, with shooting already taking place at various French locations, including St. Tropez and Paris, reported People.
Emily in Paris was recently crowned the streaming service’s most-watched comedy series of 2020, with a viewership comprising 58 million households within 28 days of the series premiere in October.
Lily Collins, who stars as Emily in the series, stated recently in a press release, “As an actor, an artist and a creative, the most meaningful gift is to connect with people through your art in some way”. She added, “It's an honour to be associated with a project that provided people with some much-needed relief during a trying time, when everyone was looking for a reason to smile and laugh.”
The actor went on to share how the role affected her. “Not only did playing Emily teach me more about myself but also about the world around me.” She went on to say, “I couldn't be happier to be back in Paris for season two, to expand upon those lessons, to continue to grow and learn even more about this beautiful city and all of its character with Emily." The show managed to bag several award nominations, including a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for Collins.
