In two separate road accidents caused by heavy rain 11 people died in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Wednesday.
In the first tragic incident, eight people were killed when an ambulance, carrying a body, fell into a ravine due to slippery road in Lower Kohistan district.
As per details, the incident occurred near Lio Banda Patan when the ambulance was taking a body from Swat to Upper Kohistan.
After receiving the information about the incident, Deputy Commissioner Syed SaifulIslam Shah, District Police Officer (DPO) Zulfiqar Khan Jadoon, other officials as well as rescue officials reached the spot. However, all the victims had died on the spot. The bodies were later shifted to a local hospital for medico legal formalities.
In another road mishap, a car fell into a ditch near Zangor Mor in Lower Kohistan, killing all three passengers.
The deceased were identified as Ghulam Rasool s/o Bakht Mand, Abdullah s/o Sardar and Shamsur Rehman s/o Abdul Hameed.
The rescue and police officials moved the bodies to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Pattan.
