A warehouse owner and a robber were killed in an exchange of fire during a robbery bid Gujranwala on Friday.
Police said a robber was caught by the trader's accomplices and handed over to the police.
A few hours later, the robber was killed in an alleged police encounter.
Separate cases of both the incidents were registered in Khayali police station. The incident took place in warehouse near the Khayali Road area, where three robbers came on a motorcycle without a number plate and asked scrap dealers Shah Ji and Bashir Ahmad to hand them over cash on gunpoint.
Warehouse owner Shah Ji resisted and opened fire.
As a result, one of the robbers was killed on the spot.
Another robber identified as Shahzad Anwar, opened fire on Shah Ji. He was seriously injured and died on the way to the hospital.
Anwar was caught by the people while the third robber escaped from the scene.
People tortured and handed over Anwar to the police. Heavy contingent including CPO Sarfraz Ahmed Falaki, SP City Waqar Azeem, DSP arrived there.
