NAB opens inquiry against PMC
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa (K-P) chapter has initiated an inquiry against the officials of Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), owners and management of private medical and dental colleges regarding corruption and misuse of authority in admissions of students in violation of merit. The bureau has also started investigation against abnormal fee structures.
A few days back PMC had pretended to take action against 50 medical dental colleges over irregularities in admissions. PMC despite admitting the fact that more than 57 colleges have been accused of corruption did not impose any fine or penalty. Nor PMC forwarded any case to the medical tribunal.
Instead, in order to address these violations, PMC has advertised admissions for these colleges again, which will create a big chaos for students. This act shows that PMC wants to favour its blue-eyed colleges where seats might still be vacant.

It is quite shocking that how these colleges suddenly manage to enhance their standards. How PMC issued provisional recognition to these colleges in no time without inspections, registering students batches of few colleges without taking penalties already fixed by PMDC.
It is quite unfortunate that admission process has been completed by PMC, private medical dental colleges have over-charged students in the form of donations.
