Six die in Abbottabad, two in Haripur

In a span of 24 hours, 53 more cases were registered in the district while 69 patients recovered from the disease

Six people lost their lives to the deadly coronavirus infection at Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) in Abbottabad on Sunday.

The victims were identified as Zainab, Parveen, Khan Bahadur, Nasir Mahmood, Zar Mohammad and Gul Faraz Khan, said a spokesperson.

He maintained that 80 patients were admitted at ATH while 16 of them are in critical condition in the ICU.

It may be recalled that the ICU of ATH can accommodate only 16 patients and is at full capacity at present. The hospital management strives to provide all possible facilities to patients, he added.

Similarly, in Haripur, two people lost lives to Covid, a 65-year-old man and an 85-year-old woman.

In a span of 24 hours, 53 more cases were registered in the district while 69 patients recovered from the disease.

The ratio of positive cases in Haripur remained 4.76 per cent with the total number of active cases at 180, Haripur Doctor's Association President Dr Hassan Raza Tarabi stated.
