Sindh extends Covid restrictions, changes business closure days
The Sindh government on Friday extended restrictions on social and economic activities till May 16 to contain the spread of coronavirus with changes in business closure days and timings.
In a new notification, the provincial authorities have changed the business closure days to Saturday and Sunday in line with the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) instructions.
Previously, the provincial government had ordered the businesses to remain close on Friday and Sunday.
All commercial activities can take place from Sehr [pre-dawn meal] till 6pm five days a week.
However, essential services are exempted from such restrictions.
While a complete ban on indoor dining remains in place, outdoor dining services are not to be offered after 12pm.
The eateries may continue to offer takeaway and delivery services after the stated time till Sehr, as per the notification.
A complete ban has been placed on all indoor and outdoor gatherings, including social, cultural, and political, sports, musical, religious and other events, and amusements parks, shrines and cinemas are to remain closed.
However, walking and jogging tracks will remain open for the public, but with the strict implementation of Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
