Renowned scholar Allama Aun Naqvi passes away in Karachi

Naqvi was hospitalised for a more than two weeks after getting ill, his close associates say

KARACHI:

Renowned religious scholar Allama Aun Mohammad Naqvi passed away in Karachi on Thursday. He was 56.

According to his close associates, Allama Aun Naqvi was hospitalised for more than two weeks after getting ill.

His funeral prayers will be offered at Imambargah Shah Karbala Trust in Karachi's Old Rizvia Society after Friday prayer at 3pm. He will be buried in Wadi-e-Hussain graveyard.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail expressed sorrow over the demise of renowned religious scholar, saying that he rendered sincere services for interfaith harmony in the country.

"The services of the religious scholar will always be remembered," he added.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also expressed his grief over the demise of Allama Aun Naqvi. He also prayed for the family of the deceased.

Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Allama Razi Jafar Naqvi, Allama Nazir Abbas Taqwa, Allama Baqir Hussain Zaidi, Shabar Raza, Razi Haider and other religious leaders also expressed their sorrows.
