Squad to operate in sub-sectors of Kohsar police station area

ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad police bicycle patrol unit was formally launched on Saturday.

In the first phase, Islamabad Inspector General Police (IGP) said that the unit would operate in the sub-sectors of the Kohsar police station area.

The bicycle unit, comprising 10 bicyclists, will be headed by ASP Amna Baig. Each patrol squad will comprise two bicyclists.

IGP told that the unit members have been given special training and provided with all required facilities.

The squad will patrol in different sectors of the related precincts and help to prevent crime incidents besides facilitating the citizens.

The IGP said the measure has been taken to promote community policing in the federal capital.
