Man ‘strangles wife to death’ in Dijkot

Suspect allegedly throttled her while she was sleeping

A man allegedly strangled his wife to death over a domestic dispute in Dijkot on Saturday. Reportedly, the , Abdul Sattar, a resident of Chak No 256 RB, was married to 22-yearold Musarat Bibi, a resident of the village, four years ago.

The couple has three children and they used to engage in frequent fights over petty issues. Police said after their recent quarrel, Abdul Sattar strangled his wife Musarat Bibi to death while she was sleeping and then he escaped the crime scene. Upon information, police reached the spot and shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy. The body was handed over to the family members after completion of the legal formalities.

The police registered a case against the suspect on the statement of deceased's cousin Mohammad Umar and started conducting raids to arrest the alleged suspect. Last month, on March 28, a man allegedly strangled his wife to death in the name of honour in Dijkot. Reportedly, the woman had eloped with another man and was brought back through a Panchayat. Police took both the body into their custody and registered a case against the alleged murderer. Police also started raids to arrest the suspect.

According to the police report, Allah Ditta, a resident of 215RB, Nethari area of Saddar police station, was married to 27-year-old Sania Bibi, ten years ago. Sania reportedly eloped with Ansar around a week ago. Separately, in an incident a man killed his wife for being nulliparous. He killed his wife with axes out of resentment for not having children and not naming the property. He then dismembered her body and threw it in a nullah. Police said, he himself staged a drama of kidnaping his wife and reached the police station with a complaint of her abduction.
