DIG reveals at least 20 investigation teams were formed considering sensitivity of the case

The predators involved in the heinous crime committed on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway Rape incident were brought to justice, said Lahore DIG Investigations Shariq Jamal.

He stated this during a press conference with three members of prosecution team at his office on Saturday after accused Abid Malhi and his accomplice Shafqat Hussain were announced death sentence for their involvement in the motorway gang rape case.

The DIG congratulated Lahore Investigations police and prosecution teams for making a strong case against the accused.

He added that the court had announced death sentence, life imprisonment and fine to the accused in the rape case.

“During identity parade, the victim identified her rapists.”

At least 20 investigations teams were formulated considering the sensitivity of the case, he shared.

At least seven suspects were taken into custody and their DNA tests were conducted.
