Artistes have hailed the decision of the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) to establish regional offices in provinces on Thursday.
Folk singer Bagchand said that the artiste's community was happy to know about the plan to set up a PNCA regional culture centre in Jamshoro, Sindh. He said that this will provide them with an opportunity to perform in national cultural programmes and explore new avenues.
A renowned folk singer from Bolan, Balochistan, Liaquat A Latifi Baloch said that the decision to establish a regional office in Quetta is welcoming news for the artiste community in the province. He maintained that the PNCA is a national level institution that can play a positive role in the promotion of folk culture and artists from different provinces.

He added that Balochistan is a land of diverse languages and cultures and old civilisation, adding that cultural and historical diversity is an asset to the country.
Furthermore, a senior journalist from Hunza, Karim Madad Amin, praised the PNCA for also establishing a cultural centre in G-B. He hoped that the regional centre would promote the art and culture of the beautiful valleys of the north, adding that the younger generation would learn and understand their culture at the centre.
PNCA Director General Dr Fouzia Saeed said that the PNCA had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Sindh and G-B governments. She added that the centres would work for the cultural development and training of human resource in the fields of art and culture.
The DG stated that the joint venture would open new horizons for the younger generation to learn about the power of cultural information.
