Punjab Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja offered condolences to the family of the martyred Racecourse police station SHO Inspector Mian Imran Abbas Shaheed on Saturday.
While visiting the victim’s family who was martyred in a target killing incident, the minister said that the martyrs of the police were the pride of the nation.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Imran Ahmar, City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas, and other senior police officials accompanied Basharat on his visit.
The minister visited the house of the martyred police inspector and offered condolences to the victim’s family and children. While expressing sorrow over the great tragedy, he said that Abbas was a great officer.
Basharat said that it was commendable that the suspects have been traced down in a short span while he assuring that the offenders would get punishment.

The minister offered prayers for martyr and said that all possible steps would be taken for the provision of the best education facilities to the children of the slain police official.
Inspector Abbas was assassinated in a well-planned ambush allegedly by the people he was after in a case of rent-a-car scam. The Rawalpindi police claimed on Friday that the culprit involved in the murder of SHO Abbas was killed in a late-night encounter.
The culprit, identified as Shahid, and his accomplices reportedly shot and killed Traffic Warden Muhammad Naveed at a security cordon set up within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station. Shahid was killed in retaliatory fire by other policemen present at the checkpoint.
