RAWALPINDI:

Police have registered separate cases against the owners of a private housing scheme and their security staff for resisting anti-encroachment operation.

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Building Superintendent Shafqat Mehmood said the authority conducted an operation against unauthorised Blue World City in the remits of Chauntra police station.

Mehmood told the Chauntra police that RDA Scheme Inspector Tariq Mehmood and Building Inspector Mukhtar Ahmed and other administrative officials reached the site to conduct the anti-encroachment operation.

However, the owner of the housing scheme and other members of management resisted the operation and blocked the route by stationing heavy machinery.

The complainant asked the police to register a case against housing scheme owner Muhammad Naeem Ejaz, Muhammad Sarfaraz Gondal and others.

In another case, the scheme inspector told the Chauntra police that they reached Abdullah City with Assistant Commissioner (AC) City, the building superintendent and related staff. The authority’s team faced intense resistance from the management of the illegal housing scheme and they also parked heavy machinery to block the roads to stop RDA teams from progressing.

He filed an application with the police to register a case against Tahir Aziz, Mujtaba Omer and others.

The police have registered separate cases of both incidents.
