Junaid Khan's first brush with the entertainment industry was through a mic, rather than a camera. He was the lead vocalist for the popular Pakistani rock band Call, with EP's former brains Xulfi and Muhammad Sultan Raja, who played guitars. After delivering hits such as Sab Bhula Ke, Khayal, Shayad, Jilawatan and Bichar Ke Bhee, Khan decided to try his luck onscreen as well.

After a fruitful music career, the musician ventured on to the small screen in 2011. Currently, Khan is starring in Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz's drama serial, Khuda Aur Muhabbat 3. In a recent interview with Urdu News, the actor opened up about societal norms, his breakups and what prompted him to pick up the pen and write songs.

Of personal experiences and heartbreaks:

"I think it's very common for women to forgive men after infidelity," he told the publication. "However, if we reverse the roles, women will never be forgiven by society for cheating on their husbands and leaving them for someone else. Such double standards should be condemned."

The actor went on to reason that both men and women can make mistakes, so why does society discriminate when it comes to forgiving the latter?

Khan went on to talk about his personal life and divulged that he, like many others, has had his heartbroken as well. "Someone who has been betrayed is very vulnerable," he said, adding it was music that helped him to get over his lost love. "I think unless a person goes through something painful, he doesn't really grow emotionally. One should take the problems in life head-on."

The PSL craze:

The Kashf star also revealed that he would absolutely be open to singing the PSL anthem for Peshawar Zalmi if ever asked again. The singer sang the team's official anthem, Hum Zalmi, which also featured the Leo Twins. "I am an avid cricket fan," he shared. "I would love to sing again for Peshawar Zalmi.

Khan also commented on the never-ending criticism for PSL's official 2021 anthem for this year, saying that it is everyone's right to share their two cents if they don't like a song but they shouldn't be crass about it. "If someone criticises how the singer's image is instead of his/her talent, then I frown upon that. One should solely be judged on their talent," he said. "Naseebo Laal is a brilliant singer. It's a shame that the infamous era of notorious Punjabi films is linked to her, but calling her out now is unjust."

The onscreen personas:

Khan will next be seen in a film titled Kahay Dil Jidhar, which will see a completely different side of him. Talking about his preferences, he shared that music will always be his first love. "Music is my passion," the former Call vocalist shared. "I have been acting more than singing so I understand how everyone thinks the former is my priority. However, I would love to have more singing projects than more dramas."

Khan, who has worked with the likes of Mahira Khan, Momal Sheikh, Saba Qamar, Armeena Rana Khan and others, is now being lauded for his sizzling onscreen chemistry with Hira Mani. The actor has shared the screen with Mani in Kashf, Mohabbat Na Kariyo and Sun Yaara.
