Woman, two boys allegedly sexually assaulted

Police register cases, launch hunt for armed rapists

CHAK JHUMRA:

Two boys and a woman were allegedly sexually assaulted in Chak Jhumra, Punjab on Sunday.

Police registered cases and launched raids to nab the armed suspects.

According to the police report, the 12-year-old son of Muhammad Ilyas, a resident of 56JB on Narwala Road, along with his 14-year-old cousin, the son of Nazir, had gone to see the henna function of Dilawar Jutt where the suspect Naveed, son of Liaqat, and Ali, son of Ashraf alias Achhi, threatened them at gunpoint. The suspects took them to a nearby crop field, where they subjected the minors to sexual abuse.

Ilyas, while filing the case, told the police that the two boys told their parents that the suspects had taken them claiming that their family members had sent them to check on the children during the wedding function. The suspects also claimed that the parents of the victims were worried that the children had not returned and it was too late, the complainant added.

The victim stated, “We went with them out of fear. On the way, Naveed took out a pistol and took us both to a nearby crop of sugarcane where he and Ali sexually abused us.”

In another incident, a 20-year-old woman, the daughter of Muhammad Naveed, and a resident of 330GB, was allegedly raped by unknown persons at gunpoint after entering her house.

When the victim’s condition deteriorated, she was taken to a hospital.

Police registered a case under Section 376 PPC against the unidentified rapists. Incidents of sexual violence against women and minors have been rampant across the province.

On February 5, a 20-year-old woman was gang-raped by two of her neighbours in Mozang area.

On January 31, two teenage girls were sexually assaulted in separate incidents in Dijkot.

On January 21, it was revealed that a teenage girl became pregnant after allegedly being raped by unknown persons in Chak Jhumra.

The 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by unknown persons who abandoned her when her condition deteriorated. As a result of the incident, the minor girl was diagnosed to be pregnant.

On January 18, a minor girl was sexually assaulted in Dijkot.
