Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday approved the construction of mother and child care hospitals in Attock, Layyah, Rajanpur, Bahawalnagar and Sialkot with an amount of Rs28 billion.
The leading minister gave the approval while chairing a meeting to review the progress on health projects at his office on Thursday.
Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh, secretaries of health and finance departments, and others attended the meeting.
The CM said the foundation stones would be laid soon to complete hospitals within two years to provide the best healthcare facilities to patients.

Buzdar directed the authorities concerned to settle related aspects without any delay and announced to personally monitor progress, adding that there is no shortage of funds for the undertaken projects.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister stated that around 7.5 million people over 60 years in age would be administered anti-coronavirus vaccine from March 8 and special centres will be set up in districts with facilities for the purpose.
“Around 47,000 frontline health workers have been vaccinated while 225,000 more have registered themselves to get vaccinated for protection against the pandemic,” he revealed.
