Cops book four for abducting, beating KU student

One of the persons booked in the case has been arrested, the police claimes

KARACHI:

Mobina Town Police registered on Tuesday an FIR against four persons over allegations of kidnapping and beating a student of the University of Karachi (KU).

Owais, a student of criminology at the KU had filed a complaint with the police in the first week of February, stating that another student of the varsity, Sherpao, who is an MPA’s brother, and his friends had been picking up fights with him.

Owais was abducted a few days after lodging the complaint. He was taken to an unknown location, but managed to flee after around 16 hours, the police said.

The police registered an FIR of the incident upon his return.

So far, the police said, one of the persons booked in the case has been arrested and the search for Sherpao is underway. Meanwhile, Sherpao’s family maintains that he had gone missing and they have got an FIR registered with the Gulshan-e-Maymar Police.
